| This recipe was improvised during our stay in Italy when suitable all natural biscuits were not available. |
| |
| Ingredients (based on one 9"x13" baking dish) |
- 1/4 cup flax seed
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup Yogurt
- 8 oz. Raw beef liver(2 slices) (chopped)
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 2 1/2 cups Whole wheat organic flour
- 1/4 cup Olive oil
- 1/4 cup Dried Wakame (seaweed)
|
| Directions |
- Beat eggs in large bowl
- Put 1/3 of the olive oil in baking dish
- Add remaining olive oil and other ingredients to bowl
- Blend the mixture and spread into the baking dish
- Bake for 35 minutes at 350 degrees.
- Shut off oven but leave baking dish in oven until cool
- Cut into 1" squares and store in refrigerator
|
| Makes about 5 dozen at $1.20/dozen |
| Two 1" squares make an adequate breakfast for one dog. |

| Notes |
- I actually used chicken livers in Italy because they were more readily available and less expensive than beef.
- This recipe contains meat but no preservatives. As described it is fit for both man and beast!
- You may add bits of leftovers, e.g. potatoes, veggies, pan juices, ... if so add 2 more tablespoons of whole wheat flour.
- May also be made in a roll and cut out like cookies.
